I’m thrilled to announce I landed some music/sound design in this trailer for Alien: Covenant. I’ve always loved the movies, & remember secretly recording Aliens on VHS aged 8, then scaring the shit out of myself & my buddies. It’s an honour to be even a small part of this series. Thanks to Pusher Music in L.A. for making it happen!
I played cello on Nocturne Wave’s track “One Fire One Fate” as used in the trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Excited to play even a tiny part of this awesome franchise.
Thanks to Pusher Music & Rinse The Sync for making it happen!
I really enjoyed visiting a scrapyard to record some big industrial smash sounds. Heavy drums? How about 1.5 Tonnes smashing down on cars & industrial bins? Quite weighty.
Hear the results on my Soundcloud Page on the tracks:
“Where’s The Humanity (Dark Magic Mix)” & “The Heart Of The Volcano”
Thanks to Will & Smash for letting it happen 🙂
Movie trailer drum recording!
I Recorded my biggest drums in a church for a bombastic, epic, celestial, massive Hollywood movie trailer. You just can’t beat real drums, & real reverb.
I recorded on 4 channels in 24/96. Using a mix of Omni, & Cardioid polar patterns for maximum audio flexibility.
It was a truly memorable experience, & I also used the in-house microphone stand, for some extra Holy vibrations.
I’m still editing the 2gb of audio, but will make the tracks public sometime soon. Although I haven’t released any records for a while, I’ve been working under the radar & will put the tracks out soon (ish)…
Thanks to David at St Andrews for arranging it, and to the Higher Power, for letting me record in his house!

It’s the birth-week of legendary innovator in electronic music, the pioneer Raymond Scott, His birth-week 106 years ago anyway…

It’s 16 of Raymond’s best Bits remixed by 16 experimental artists. Listen to the Automated Acoustics remix of “Lullaby”.
From the album’s website:
“Cyclic Bits” is the first remix album of the music of remarkable composer and inventor Raymond Scott.
This album is a series of reinventions of the work of a true musical maverick, remixed by a host of today’s most inventive musical mavericks. The diversity of the release reflects the profound influence Scott’s work has had on composers working across the board of styles and approaches.
Originally created as a special for Ergo Phizmiz’s Phuj Phactory on WFMU, a projected release never happened.
This, at last, is it.

Hello, thanks for checking in.
After a bit of a gap, I’m excited about starting to release some tracks again. They’ll be coming out on Alternative Blueprint Records
I’ve been producing various stuff, but didn’t have the time or headspace to release anything for a while. Life got crazy, & my Audio Mastering work took over..
Coming up is a stripped back, direct sound…. Live cello & violin. Analogue acid squelch. Piano. Glistening pads. Organ. Heavy bass. Gossamer touch. Cinematic landscapes. Gruff vocals to the moon.
A couple of new tracks here
