Music in the trailer for The Book Of Boba Fett

Thrilled that my other music project the INDUSTRIAL BATTLE ORCHESTRA (a 50/50 collaboration with my homie Nocturne Wave) has our music used in the trailer for Disney’s recent Star Wars spinoff The Book Of Boba Fett.

Check it out here:

The track will be released later in the year on Alternative Blueprint Records, where you can also stream our 2 previous releases.

Antlers Trailer Music – Automated Acoustics

I’m excited to have some of my more avant-garde music placed into the truly horrifying trailer to the Antlers movie.

A remixed version of my track “Entering The Pit” was used as the dark ambient music setting the scene. The original version of the track is below.

It’s a newly birthed-world made of various found sound recorded in Los Angeles and Bristol, U.K. Morphed and twisted into an unsettling descent.

The full track also has beats from a scrapyard recording session, and wood scraping on stone.

Entering The Pit (original) – Automated Acoustics

Thanks to the Pusher crew, Los Angeles and Rinse The Sync UK for making it happen.

Alien: Covenant – sound design & music

I’m thrilled to announce I landed some music/sound design in this trailer for Alien: Covenant.  I’ve always loved the movies, & remember secretly recording Aliens on VHS aged 8, then scaring the shit out of myself & my buddies. It’s an honour to be even a small part of this series. Thanks to Pusher for the hook-up!

Scrap Yard – industrial recording

I really enjoyed visiting a scrapyard to record some big industrial smash sounds. Heavy drums? How about 1.5 Tonnes smashing down on cars & industrial bins? Quite weighty.

Hear the results on my E.P. “Where’s The Humanity“, “Built From Memories” and “In Dreams

Thanks to Will & Smash for letting it happen 🙂

Bombastic Church drum recording session

Movie trailer drum recording!

image

I Recorded my biggest drums in a church for a bombastic, epic, celestial,  massive Hollywood movie trailer. You just can’t beat real drums, & real reverb.
I recorded on 4 channels in 24/96. Using a mix of Omni, & Cardioid polar patterns for maximum audio flexibility.

It was a truly memorable experience, & I also used the in-house microphone stand, for some extra Holy vibrations.

I’m still editing the 2gb of audio, but will make the tracks public sometime soon.

Thanks to David at St Andrews for arranging it, and to the Higher Power, for letting me record in his house!

UPDATE: You can hear the drums on many tracks including “Battle Of The Gods” on my release “Built From Memories” and my cover of Roy Orbison’s “In Dreams“.

Since this post was written I have release many more tracks! Check out my discography here.

It’s the birth-week of legendary innovator in electronic music, the pioneer Raymond Scott, His birth-week 106 years ago anyway…

So it seems a good time to mention the first Raymond Scott remix album was commissioned by Ergo Phizmiz back in 2009 for Chinstrap music  Cyclic Bits:The Raymond Scott Variations

It’s 16 of Raymond’s best Bits remixed by 16 experimental artists. Listen to the Automated Acoustics remix of “Lullaby”.

From the album’s website:

Cyclic Bits” is the first remix album of the music of remarkable composer and inventor Raymond Scott.

This album is a series of reinventions of the work of a true musical maverick, remixed by a host of today’s most inventive musical mavericks. The diversity of the release reflects the profound influence Scott’s work has had on composers working across the board of styles and approaches.

Originally created as a special for Ergo Phizmiz’s Phuj Phactory on WFMU, a projected release never happened.

This, at last, is it.

Back from the ether

Hello, thanks for checking in.

After a bit of a gap, I’m excited about starting to release some tracks again. They’ll be coming out on Alternative Blueprint Records

I’ve been producing various stuff, but didn’t have the time or headspace to release anything for a while. Life got crazy, & my Audio Mastering work took over..

Coming up is a stripped back, direct sound…. Live cello & violin. Analogue acid squelch. Piano. Glistening pads. Organ. Heavy bass. Gossamer touch. Cinematic landscapes. Gruff vocals to the moon.

A couple of new tracks here
